Refurbishment of lavatories at terminal 1 (phase 1)

Description:
The lavatories were in poor condition due to intensive use and the building's age and, as a consequence, left a bad impression on the users. To improve this image and facilitate cleaning and maintenance, the following was carried out:
- Layout was changed to created brighter and more open and fluid areas.
- Electrical installations, masonry work and sewage systems were reviewed and renovated so as to adapt them to new the location of lavatory sets. Drains were installed in all lavatory clusters to prevent flooding and undesired water build-up.
- The horizontal and vertical finishes were replaced so as to create a bright area which conveyed a sense of space.
- The floors were waterproofed to prevent infiltration to other areas in the event of flooding or during cleaning work.
- The lighting system in the lavatory clusters was replaced.
- Design and execution of new worktops in corian type thermo-funded material.
- New stalls in glass (top) and compact laminate board (bottom).
- Replacement of lavatory sets by new models with modern, easy-to-clean and resilient design.
- Furnishings and equipment with similar finish to the aforementioned lavatory sets.
- Installation of new production systems for domestic hot water.
- Signage will be included in the overall project.
